ArcticNet is a Network of Centres of Excellence of Canada that brings together scientists and managers in the natural, human health and social sciences with their partners in Inuit organizations, northern communities, government and industry to help Canadians face the impacts and opportunities of climate change and modernization in the Arctic. Over 175 ArcticNet researchers and 1000 graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, research associates and technicians from 34 Canadian universities and 20 federal and provincial agencies and departments collaborate on 41 research projects with more than 150 partner organizations from Canada, the USA, Japan, Denmark, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Russia, Greenland and France.



ArcticNet is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Communications and Events Officer to increase the impact of our Arctic research activities through first-class communication activities and marketing initiatives. This includes working with the ArcticNet team to help mobilize and promote the Network’s research projects and researchers, supporting the Network’s engagement with stakeholders and government, and helping to position ArcticNet for a successful future as a world leader in Arctic science.
An important part of this role is the event coordination and marketing of the Annual Meeting. ArcticNet runs North America’s largest arctic science meeting with over 1000 participants from across the globe. This event brings together the world’s foremost northern scientists and northern research partners and stakeholders to discuss the emerging global challenges and opportunities arising from climate change and modernization in the circum-Arctic.
